Home In Mars

Image
Have you thought ever to build a home in Mars? But today I'm gonna describe what's the plan of NASA to build a home. I'm sure in future we'll begin to live in Mars.  NASA is looking into creating inflatable domes covered in ice for astronauts to live and work in, providing them with protection from extreme temperatures and high-energy radiation. "After a day dedicated to identifying needs, goals, and constraints we rapidly assessed many crazy, out of the box ideas and finally converged on the current Ice Home design, which provides a sound engineering solution,"  said senior systems engineer Kevin Vipavetz , from NASA’s Langley Research Centre in Virginia. So what exactly is an ' Ice Home ' anyway? Well, though the name invokes images of igloos, and that mental image isn't all that far off, the concept NASA’s working out – officially called Mars Ice Home – is an inflatable, inner-tube-like device that, when inflated fully, is covered with a...

20 Best Ideas To Recycle Plastics

Image
T he term ‘’plastic’’ is derived from the Greek word ''plastikos'', meaning fit for moulding. This refers to the material’s malleability, or plasticity during manufacture, which allows it to be cast, pressed, or extruded into a variety of shapes - such as films, fibres, plates, tubes, bottles, boxes, and much more. . 1. Create Recycled Plastic Bottle Supply Cups Office buildings are one of the leading contributors to the rise of landfills. So, after guzzling down a Mountain Dew to kick a 2 p.m. slump, don’t just toss the bottle when you’re finished. Make plastic bottle cups to house pens and supplies at the office, or craft supplies at home. Impress your coworkers and kids with your sustainable efforts. 2. Reuse Coffee Creamer Containers for Snack Storage Who knew coffee could do more than fulfill a caffeine addiction? Reuse plastic coffee creamer bottles and make containers for snack storage. They make pouring incredibly easy, allowing you to...

Tata Motors' Harrier can shake things up in the mid-level SUV segment

Image
E ver since Tata Motors bought over Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) a decade ago, it had been expected that sooner or later Tata’s SUVs would also be based on the same underpinnings as those of its British subsidiary, the maker of Land Rover and Range Rover sport-utility vehicles. So, when the parent company said that it had built a concept called HX5 based on the Omega ARC architecture derived from Land it at Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida, it created quite a buzz.     Now, in its final shape, the HX5 is the Tata Harrier and ready to go on sale. I got an opportunity to go chasing the dunes in a pre-production model. THE EXTERIORS It may not obvious at first sight, but a relook shows up the similarities with the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, both of which are based on the same platform. The planted stance, the rising belt line, the roof that slopes down to the spoiler on the tailgate, and the resultant tapering glass area design elements ...
